Ministry of Information and Culture said that more than 32,000 foreign tourists had visited Afghanistan’s tourist attractions over the past five years.
The Islamic Emirate spokesperson has dismissed travel warnings issued by some countries regarding Afghanistan as unjustified, saying that security has been ensured across the country.
Zabihullah Mujahid says these warnings are issued to create fear and concern, while foreign nationals, tourists, journalists, and employees of international organizations are traveling and working in Afghanistan without problems.
Zabihullah Mujahid, Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said: “We have been hearing these warnings for several years, but in practice, we have seen that no one has been harmed. This suggests that these warnings may be issued to create fear and concern and spread misinformation. I assure everyone that no one faces any danger in Afghanistan.”
This year, nearly five countries, including the United States, Australia, Germany, Canada, and the United Kingdom, issued Level 4 travel advisories, urging their citizens to avoid traveling to Afghanistan due to what they described as security threats and the risks of detention and kidnapping.
Asadullah Nadim, Military Analyst, said: “Safety and security are closely related, but they are two different things. Security means the absence of war, while safety involves personal protection and the safeguarding of individual freedoms, issues that are frequently highlighted in media coverage of Afghanistan.”
Sadiq Shinwari, Military Analyst, said: “Travel warnings issued by different countries should be taken seriously and subjected to intelligence and security assessments. Practical measures should be taken to address these concerns.”
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture said that more than 32,000 foreign tourists had visited Afghanistan’s tourist attractions over the past five years.
