Afghan Envoy Says More Countries May Recognize Islamic Emirate

Hassan also said the Islamic Emirate does not seek conflicts with other countries and wants relations based on mutual respect.

Gul Hassan Hassan, the Islamic Emirate’s ambassador to Russia, says diplomatic relations and engagement with Central Asian countries, China, and Russia have expanded, with these countries showing interest in strengthening economic, healthcare, and educational cooperation with Afghanistan.

Speaking at the inauguration of a mosque and educational center in Ghazni province, Hassan said some countries were close to recognizing the Islamic Emirate, without naming them.

Gul Hassan Hassan said: “Besides Russia, some other countries are also close to recognizing us in the near future. A delegation led by Russia’s deputy prime minister will visit Afghanistan soon. He has good intentions toward Afghanistan, and this will help increase economic exchanges.”

The Afghan ambassador to Russia also said the Islamic Emirate does not seek conflicts or tensions with other countries and wants relations based on mutual respect.

“We have no hostile relations with anyone, and the whole world knows this. If there are any problems with other countries, they have not started from our side, and we are only defending ourselves. This is not because of weakness, but because we do not want conflicts in the world,” Hassan added.

Meanwhile, a mosque and educational center built by a local resident at a personal cost of more than 14 million afghanis has recently been inaugurated in Muqur district of Ghazni province.

The educational center will provide learning opportunities for up to 500 boys and girls.

Mohammad Dawood Hemat, who funded the construction of the mosque and educational center, said: “There are around 18 villages in this area, but the government has not built even one standard school building, and the level of education is very low. When I looked at the young people, I could see their dreams of becoming doctors, engineers, and religious scholars, but they had no opportunities. That is why I decided to provide them with access to education.”

Noorullah Tasal, a resident of Muqur district, said: “Dozens of children will study at this educational center and serve their communities in the future, including as doctors. This shows the value of education. A young man used his knowledge to earn money and then provided educational opportunities for children in his village.”

In recent years, financial contributions from local residents toward the construction of mosques, educational centers, hospitals, roads, and other public projects have increased significantly in Ghazni province.

About a week ago, another young man also built a school building in Muqur district of Ghazni using his own money.
