Interior Ministry Assures Security for Foreign Tourists in Afghanistan

In addition to promoting Afghanistan’s historical and natural attractions, tourism can contribute to economic activity and create job opportunities.

With growing interest among foreign tourists in Afghanistan, ensuring their safety and treating visitors appropriately have emerged as two important factors in the development of the country’s tourism industry.

In addition to promoting Afghanistan’s historical and natural attractions, tourism can contribute to economic activity and create job opportunities.

The Ministry of Interior says security has been ensured for foreign tourists and special measures have been introduced to protect them.

Officials at the ministry say that with improved security across the country, tourists can visit Afghanistan’s attractions.

Abdul Matin Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, told TOLOnews: “The number of tourists visiting Afghanistan has increased recently. The Ministry of Interior assures foreign tourists that they can travel to any part of Afghanistan, taking advantage of the current security situation.”

Tourism activists say security, proper treatment of visitors, accommodation facilities, and easy access to tourist attractions are among the key factors in attracting foreign tourists.

They emphasize that responsible conduct and hospitality toward tourists can play an important role in improving Afghanistan’s image abroad.

Yousuf Stanikzai, a tourism activist, said: “Security is currently maintained across the country, but the relevant authorities must provide more facilities for foreign tourists to increase their numbers.”

Some citizens also believe that treating foreign tourists well and cooperating with them are important for showcasing Afghan culture and hospitality.

Previously, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture said that more than 32,000 foreign tourists had visited Afghanistan’s attractions over the past five years.

He added that the number of tourists entering the country continues to rise.
