Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said: “I issue and implement Sharia rulings upon you. I am not permitted to act against Sharia, and I pledge to act according to it. The Sharia that I implement upon you, I also implement upon myself, and I consider myself bound by it.”
In another part of his speech, the leader of the Islamic Emirate said that, unlike in the past, the government now exercises firm authority across the country.
Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, saying that Afghanistan favors good relations with the world based on Islamic Sharia, also criticized the international community for not recognizing the current government.
Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada said: “The previous government, which did not even have control over a single district, was recognized by the world. Today, the government of the Islamic Emirate controls all of Afghanistan, yet it is not recognized.”
