MoI Identifies Announces Police Uniform

Meanwhile, some military experts believe that the uniform gives troops a military identity, but that it should not be misused.

After ten months of waiting, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) finally announced the new uniform of the ministry’s police forces on Wednesday.

The aim of distributing new uniforms for police forces, according to Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, deputy Minister of Interior Affairs, is to provide better security for citizens and to avoid the misuse of the security forces’ authority by non-police.

The new uniform will first be distributed only in the provinces of Kabul and Kandahar, as per ministry officials, before being distributed to other provinces.

“The uniforms that you see are for the police officers and the security forces. The benefit of having this uniform is that it will thwart the imposters,” said Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, deputy Minister of Interior.

“The issue of the uniform is a very important issue for security, and many issues are related to uniforms. When there is no uniform, people do not know whether these people are related to security or are the ones who cause insecurity for the citizens,” said Mawlawi Zainullah Aber, head of the office of the Ministry of Interior.

Abdul Nafi Takur, Interior Ministry spokesman, told a press conference today that 20,000 new uniforms will be distributed to police in Kabul and Kandahar provinces, and 100,000 more will be available in the near future.

“Today, I am very happy that we have put on this uniform again to serve the people, and we expect the people to welcome us as we wear this uniform,” said Hamed, a member of the security forces.

Meanwhile, some military experts believe that the uniform gives troops a military identity, but that it should not be misused.

“It is good that the armed forces are dressed in uniform, soldiers and officers who are outside their unit without uniforms should be prevented,” military specialist Assadullah Nadim said.

The Ministry also added that the cost of providing new police uniforms has decreased by 75% compared to the previous government.

The lack of uniforms used by the Islamic Emirate’s forces has long been a source of concern among the country’s citizens.
